I guess I really like making these and I am getting better with each one. At least that is my opinion. Anyway, I will amke some more and finish a quilt section at least once a week.

pretty

I guess the right fabric makes all the difference. I like this bag. I have been doing well making these, but need to get ready for the holidays too.

Sales

I have decided to sell these bags, I like the fabric in the picture, it is soft and velvety. I have made several bags in different fabrics, I like most of them. Back to the maple leafs after the holiday though, I need to get at least one color done a week and there are 12. Progress has been slow because I was distracted by making bags. Shame on me.

another bag

Well, I alterred the pattern a little and put a zipper in. I am not sure I like it as much as I thought I would. I will keep trying.

quilt bag

Since everyone is carrying quilted purses, I thought I would give it a try. Not too bad for a first one. I am going to try another one tomorrow in a different style.

Oh no!

After much searching, I am unable to get the tan background fabric (for the maple leaf quilt) to match the same texture and color, or even close. I think I bought it a few years ago and the stores do not carry it. So,... I went shopping to buy a new background color, I then had to replace the main colors. I ended up changing 3 of the 4 colors I showed in the picture! Well, 24 squares relegated to crafts and not a quilt. But I will begin again. we will see if I have better luck now.

One down

While I am still trying to locate more of the fabric I need for the maple leaf quilt, I decided to finish up with a few UFO's. This baby quilt is an extra I made from some fabric I already had, (it measures 36 X 48), you never know when some one will want to buy a baby girl quilt. Now I have to quilt the baby boy quilt. We have company all weekend, so it will not be finished until next week.

I figure that as long as I stay busy, it will be good for everyone.

done for the moment

Yeah, I have finished the first 4 colors of maple leaf blocks. I started with the lightest. There are 12 colors total, the 8 darkest are left. Now I will have to take a break from this project as I ran out of the background color and I am having trouble finding it. No matter, I have baby quilts to quilt. Hopefully I will get those done soon and can go on a fabric hunt again.

not quite there yet

I am still struggling to have the time to finish the part I am working on. I was kind of busy today and we had company. Tomorrow will be the day I can post a new picture. Oh well, I still find a little time every day to sew!

half square triangles

I have always done easy patterns with squares only. Now, with the maple leaf pattern,,, triangles. I have figured out how to make them!!!! I am not perfect, but after all 72 squares of this quilt, I might get better.

Let's begin

I am new to blogging and I will probably be slow to start, but I am anxious to see how this works.
